Quarles Petroleum Acquires Whiting Oil, Northern Neck Oil

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Quarles Petroleum Inc., a regional provider of fuel and fuel solutions based in Fredericksburg, Va., has purchased Whiting Oil Co. and Northern Neck Oil Co., Warsaw, Va., from Petroleum Marketers Inc.

Whiting Oil, Culpeper, Va., and Northern Neck Oil provide heating oil, gasoline and diesel products to both residential and commercial customers.

“Quarles is a local, family-owned company that has been reliably delivering fuel to our customers for 75 years. All of the associates at Quarles look forward to extending the same level of excellent customer service and reliability to our new customers in Warsaw and Culpeper,” said Paul Giambra, president and CEO of Quarles.

“Whiting Oil and Northern Neck Oil both have a great reputation for providing petroleum products and services to their customers. Quarles expects to have a smooth transition and to continue the tradition of customer service that our customers expect” Giambra said.

Roanoke, Va.-based Petroleum Marketers Inc. is a family of companies that offers branded gasoline, diesel fuel, kerosene, home heating oil, bulk lubricants and motor oils. PM Terminals Inc. operates APB Whiting Oil, Buck Oil, Fuel Oils, Lynchburg Oil, Northern Neck Oil, Whiting Jamison, Whiting and Whiting Rockbridge companies.

In addition, Petroleum Marketers operates the Stop In Food Stores chain of more than 80 convenience stores in Virginia and West Virginia.

In addition to providing heating oil, gasoline and diesel, Quarles also operates 120 unattended commercial fuel stations throughout the Mid-Atlantic, delivered bulk and packaged lubricants and integrated fuel solutions for businesses.

Quarles Petroleum is now in its seventh decade of operations serving customers in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and North Carolina. Major product lines are residential propane and oil, commercial delivered fuels, fleet card sites and services and lubricants.
