CSP’s Category Manager of the Year Award Nominations Open
OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill. — As the leading provider of category insights in the convenience-store and retail petroleum industry, CSP magazine has announced the opening of a first-of-its-kind Category Manager of the Year Award. Between now and November 20, suppliers can nominate their favorite dedicated, effective category manager by filling out the form at CSPnet.com/CategoryManagerAward.
“Category managers are the driving force behind the growth of the convenience-store industry,” said Jim Bursch, executive vice president of convenience for Winsight LLC (formerly CSP Business Media). “Prior to today, these ‘CEOs’ of their particular category had not been given the recognition they deserve. We see this program quickly becoming the most prestigious award honoring category managers in our channel.”
What makes a top category manager? Certainly bottom-line results are important. In addition, does your candidate stay on top of trends, introduce new flavors and lines and weed out dust-collecting SKUs?
Multiple submissions by suppliers are accepted.
Nominations and winners of the Category Manager of the Year Award will be chosen by their supplier partners.
Category managers will be awarded in eight product categories, including:
- Alcohol Beverages
- Candy
- Foodservice
- General Merchandise/HBC
- OTP
- Packaged Beverages
- Snacks
- Tobacco
CSP magazine will honor two winners in each category: those from chains of one to 100 stores, and those from operations of 101 or more stores. In addition to being honored at a special ceremony, winners will be featured in a special section of CSP’s 2016 Category Management Handbook.
